Channeling our inner Left Behind with some Chris
Tomlin and Kirk Cameron, The Deucecast Movie Show turns attention
to those great films with a religious tone... be it matters of
faith or cult or anything less, Dave, Mike & Pinky welcome back
Witt Stillman Fan, Terrance Malick Apologist and Film Historian Dr
Earl.
And for the first time on the show, co-host of the
Cinemartyrs, a podcast about watching bad Christian films, Atlanta
based Bill Seybolt (that's SY-BOLT, thank you very much)
joins the guys on the Binder & Binder Hotline. This, of
course, brings the discussion back to Christian Mingle, Lacey
Chebert, Stephen Toblowsky and a maritime themed agency.
First up, doing the birthday movies! How old is The
Depahted? What about Training Day or The Color of Money or
even Enter the Ninja? Find out here.
Then, a rousing round of bDMI, or Reverse IMDb, reading the
actors in a movie and asking for the guesses -- how fast can you
guess the films?
And finally, fave religious films! Dr. Earl in the
pretentious corner, drinks his Chablis while wearing his blazer
with the patches on the arm, comes up with the hipster man bun
movies ("The Passion of Joan of Arc"?), while everyone else
goes more normal... Scientology docs! Amish Harrison Ford!
Steve Martin and the miracles! Amy Adams, who Dave loves!
Marxist Homosexuals! (not kidding... just
listen...)... Elizabeth Olsen and Marcy! May! Martha!
Marlene! The most famous running music of the 80s!
Hanson, MMMBop and their own beer, MmmHops!
Also, the history of barn raising in film, the resurgence of
Christian Slater, as well as a rundown of Contemporary Christian
Worship music leaders today.
Pinky also gives his take on a Mel Brooks classic in Pretty in
Pink.
Oh, and finally, a reference to the Tom Hanks & Dan Ackroyd classic
"Dragnet".
